Using FeedbackRobot in Slack
Install the app, link your account, bind a channel, and the commands it understands.
The FeedbackRobot Slack app brings new reviews, survey responses and weekly numbers into a Slack channel, and lets your team send surveys from there. Anything that reaches a customer waits for someone to click Approve. The overview is on the FeedbackRobot for Slack page.
Install and link your account
- Go to feedbackrobot.com/slack and click Add to Slack. You need permission to add apps to your workspace.
- Approve the permissions. You land on a confirmation page, and FeedbackRobot sends you a direct message in Slack.
- FeedbackRobot looks up the email on your Slack profile. If it matches a FeedbackRobot account, you get a sign-in link by email; click it to finish linking. If there’s no account for that email, one is created and linked for you, and you get an email to finish setting it up.
- If your login belongs to more than one FeedbackRobot workspace, pick the one this Slack workspace should use.
Teammates link the same way: the first time they mention @FeedbackRobot, it links their Slack email and invites them to your FeedbackRobot workspace as a member. They accept from the invitation email.
Bind a channel
Run /feedbackrobot bind in the public channel where your team should see feedback. The bot joins the channel, and from then on that channel gets:
- New-review alerts for every review, by default. Change it with
/feedbackrobot alerts negative(3 stars and below),/feedbackrobot alerts all, or/feedbackrobot alerts off. - A weekly digest every Monday. Change the day with
/feedbackrobot digest friday, or turn it off with/feedbackrobot digest off. A week with no activity is skipped. - Failed-recovery alerts when FeedbackRobot’s follow-up with an unhappy customer ends without a resolution.
Prefer a guided setup? Type /feedbackrobot start and click through.
What you can ask
The bot recognizes these commands. It is not a free-form chat assistant yet, so stick close to these phrasings. @FeedbackRobot help lists them in Slack.

Google, Yelp, Facebook, TripAdvisor, Booking.com, OpenTable, Zomato or Agoda. Starts collecting after Approve. |
@FeedbackRobot did they respond? |
Ask in the thread where a survey was sent. |
Most of these also work as slash commands, such as /feedbackrobot survey <email> or /feedbackrobot stats. Slash commands work in your direct messages with the app too.
Survey responses and replies
When a customer answers a survey that was sent from Slack, the response is posted in the same thread as the original request. If the response is negative, FeedbackRobot adds an AI summary to the thread.
To answer the customer, reply in that thread. FeedbackRobot emails your reply to the customer, adds a checkmark to your message, and confirms in the thread. There’s no approval step here, so write it the way you’d write the email.
About the AI
Survey drafts, social captions and response summaries are written by OpenAI’s gpt-4o-mini model, called from FeedbackRobot’s platform rather than from Slack. They can be wrong, so read them before you keep or act on them. Slack messages aren’t used to train AI models. See the privacy policy for what’s sent and how long it’s kept.
Limits
- Public channels and direct messages only. Private channels aren’t supported yet.
- The app doesn’t post replies to Google or other review sites.
- Approval cards expire after 24 hours if nobody acts on them.
Remove the app or delete your data
A workspace admin can remove FeedbackRobot from Manage apps in Slack. FeedbackRobot deletes its access token and stops posting right away. Surveys, responses and review sources you created stay in your FeedbackRobot workspace.
To unlink one person, get a copy of your Slack data, or have it deleted, email [email protected] with the workspace name. Details are in the privacy policy.
