Using a survey template
Finding a template in the gallery, applying it, and what to change before you send.
Templates are the fastest route to a survey that measures something standard.
Find one
From Survey Builder, choose Browse Gallery.
The gallery opens as carousels grouped by category. Two ways to narrow it:
- Search templates — free-text search
- Select a category — filter to one category, which switches the view to a paginated grid
That’s the whole filter set. There’s no sort by popularity or date, and no industry filter.
Preview and apply
Open a template to see its name, description, and a Survey Preview panel showing the actual questions.
Use Survey Template creates your own copy and opens it in the editor. The gallery template is untouched — you’re always editing a copy.
What to change
Do change the business name, anything industry-specific, and the wording of context questions. A template referring to “your stay” is wrong for a dental practice.
Be careful changing the core measurement question if you’re tracking a standard score. Rewording “how likely are you to recommend us” breaks comparability with your own past results.
Trim ruthlessly. Most templates carry more questions than you need. The test for each: if the answer came back badly, what would I do differently? No answer means delete it. Every question you remove increases the number of people who finish.
