Eleven at night. The air conditioning in room two fourteen starts to rattle.
Midnight. The guest calls down. Nobody comes.
Seven in the morning. They check out. How was your stay? Fine, thanks.
Two days later, it is on Tripadvisor, for every future guest to read.
Now run it again.
Eleven at night, the same rattle. But there is a small card on the desk. Scan to tell us anything. They scan it, and type one line.
Your duty manager is told right away. The guest is moved, or the unit is fixed. By breakfast, it is a story about how well you handled it.
That is the difference between hearing it during the stay and reading it afterwards.
And for the guests who say nothing at all, ask after checkout. One short question by email or text, when they are home and honest.
A guest who stays twice a year is worth eight hundred dollars a year. Worth one question.
FeedbackRobot puts the code in the room, sends the survey, and brings every answer to one inbox.
Next: turn happy guests into proof.
Why it matters
Plenty of unhappy guests never complain. They say everything was fine, and you never find out why they did not return.
Say they stayed twice a year, at four hundred dollars a stay. That is eight hundred dollars a year, gone without a word.
The happy ones tell you what to keep. The unhappy ones tell you what to fix, privately, before it becomes a review.
