Ask every member after the first class

Unhappy members often leave without a word. Here is what each one costs, and a simple way to ask everyone after the first class.

Ten new people walk into your studio this month. How many are still coming in three months?

Be honest. Not all ten. And the reason is almost never the yoga.

It is the first visit. Where do I put my shoes? Is this my mat? Did the teacher even notice me?

Nobody says any of that out loud. Did you enjoy that? Yes, thanks. And they do not come back.

Each one is a membership worth nine hundred and sixty dollars a year, lost in the first hour.

So ask after the first class. Not at the door, with the teacher watching. That evening, by text. How was your class?

Great teacher, but the class was so full I had no room to move.

Now you know to cap the Tuesday class. And you can write back tonight, and invite them to a quieter one.

Do the same when a regular goes quiet for a few weeks. One question, before they cancel.

FeedbackRobot sends the question for you, and collects every answer in one inbox. There is a code for the wall by the door too.

Next: turn happy members into proof.

Why it matters

Plenty of unhappy members never complain. They say everything was fine, and you never find out why they did not return.

Say they paid eighty dollars a month. That is nine hundred and sixty dollars a year, gone without a word.

The happy ones tell you what to keep. The unhappy ones tell you what to fix, privately, before it becomes a review.
